Quarantina

For my zine I wanted to make it quarantine themed with the things I’ve been doing lately. I wanted to make it colorful and full of things I like. It ended up being a drawing of my dog Melo, some drawings that reminded me of my recent trips, a drawing of my latest knitting project and other images.

I think I was pretty successful in adding things that I like and I’m super happy with how it came out. I’m not the greatest drawer so this was a fun project to get me out of my comfort zone.

If I had to do anything different I would probably use bigger paper in order to get more surface space to draw. I would also like to try my hand at watercolor or acrylic paints in a future project.

When I was driving through the forests in Oregon during a trip with my family, I noticed a lot of caution signs relating to fires. Many campgrounds forbade open fires and for good reason. If I were to make another zine I would start it with a lit match and each paper would go into more and more trees/forest being burned down. I would use my zine to depict how something as tiny as a lit match can wipe out an entire forest.
