For this and next weeks project I plan on knitting a colorful matching sweater for my dog Melo. In American culture, dogs are seem as “Man’s Best Friend” or in my case woman’s best friend. He’s really added a lot of fun and happiness to my life so I wanted to make something for him. I think it would be really cute for photos and it’ll also help to keep him warm as the temperature continues to drop.

Since I recently knitted a cardigan for myself, I have a lot of extra yarn and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with it. I decided to make a colorful matching sweater for Melo that we can wear out together on our walks and trips to the park. I’ll be using red, orange, yellow, green, blue and black yarn for this project. I’ll also be using knitting needles along with scissors, a tapestry needle and a measuring tape.

My biggest concern for this project would be the time I have to complete it. I’m still a beginner and am not the fasted knitter. With other classes and work I don’t know how much time I’ll have to work on it but I am semi-confident that I can complete it in a week. I’m also not going to be following any sort of professional pattern and am going to go off of a pattern I’ve created myself. I’m going to use the same stitches I used for my own sweater and hopefully I’ll achieve a smaller dog version of it.
